EHF 2016 European Men's Handball Championship in Poland

These two circular stamps, denominated at 2.25 and 5 zl, recognize the European Handball Federation’s (EHF) championship that was held for the first time in Poland on January 15-31, 2016.  The specific Polish cities hosting the event were Krakow (Tauron Arena), Gdansk (Ergo Arena), Katowice (Spodek), and Wroclaw (Centennial Hall).  Sixteen European national teams competed in four seeds, and a total of 42 matches were played.  This championship event occurs every two years to crown the European champions, and also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship.  The 2.35 zl stamp shows a man in play and the 5 zl stamp portrays a hand gripping a ball.  The pane has multiple perforation patterns that facilitate removal of the stamps.
