1918-1919 Local Overprints

 This section of the Kronenberg collection focuses on the 1918-19 local overprints . After the collapse of the German and Austro-Hungarian administrations in late 1918, newly established Polish postal authorities frequently had to make use of existing German, Austrian, or Ukrainian stamps. Local post offices sometimes applied their own handstamps because centrally produced Polish stamps were unavailable.
