1st Polish Corps under General Musnicki – 1918

The 1st Polish Corps was organized under  General Dowbór Muśnicki from Polish soldiers in the Russian army during World War I as a separate military formation in 1918.  The military mail of this formation had its headquarters in the fort of Bobruisk and its offices were in: Bychow, Mohylow, Rochaczew and Źłobin. The mail served the military and the civilian population of this area. An organized field postal service was also available to the civilian population. The issued stamps and postcards were reprints of postage stamps from Tsarist Russia and came from the postal supplies held in the occupied post offices. The Russian stamps were found in Bobruisk and were overprinted. Until Apr. 11, 1918 stamps of the 1st corps were also used as revenue stamps and cancelled fiscally or crossed out .The agreement with the Germans liquidating the Corps was signed on May 21, 1918 and on July 2, 1918 the post office was abolished.
